Newbie - how to flash W810i ?

Hi all ;


i am a newbie in Flashing Firmwares ;
I have a W810i RED CID50 (R4EA031)

so i was using XS++ 3.1 .. and i use this firmware:

main:
W810_R4EA031_MAIN_GENERIC_HN_RED50

&
Fs:
W810_R4ED001_FS_EUROPE_2_RED50

but when i will flash it in xs++ 3.1 ; it give me an error ..

and there a Mod said ; use SE tool 2 ;

so thats why i use it for now ..

but i want to know what they mean with a Customfile or something like that in Se tool .. ?

Flash your phone and How to apply or remove patch using SETool 2 Lite

Read this:

Customization = Changing or replacing original content of the phone, like ringtones, wallpapers, icons, themes, that come with branded or unbranded phones. It's nothing more than first default configuring of the phone after flashing FS file. Usually the process is:
1. Writing customize.xml and server&java certificates in tpa/preset/custom in sonics folder to tpa/presest/custom folder in the phone's internal file system
2. When the phone starts after flashing, it parses that xml file, puts settings written in that xml into the phone's gdfs and works out certificates (some go to Trusted certificates, some got Java certificate etc)
If you open customize.xml you can change almost any initial settings like time zone, date, internet profiles etc.

Branded Phones = Some network providers place their own ringtones, themes, icons, links etc within phone's software. (eg. vodafone, orange, t-mobie, rogers, cingular etc.) Debranding means removing all this content and restoring phone to it's original factory SONYERICSSON condition. This will not damage phone in any way! You will loose Operator Icons, and links, WAP, and MMS settings however these you can get via Sony Ericsson - Sony Ericsson

select Region ---> Country ---> Support ---> PHONE SETUP

Finalization = Completing flashing operations and storing basic settings that phone needs to properly operate [i.e. security certificates, (and this is why phone displays "configuration error" if it is not properly done)].

Firmware has two parts:
1. FS: It contains languages, images, sounds, animations, settings, etc. Anything that isn't pure software.
2. Main: It contains the software.

Note: MAIN and FS HAVE to be the same software version

Customization has to be same region as FS, in this case
FS = EU5 (EUROPE_5)
Customization =CDA102338/50 ( EUROPE_5 Sunrise Switzerland)

but if i am right ; i Thought the W810i have not the same Main / FS .. i thought i red it some where ..

But how do you see that for example , FS = EU5 (EUROPE_5) ?


So i have :

But in Europe 2 there isn't the dutch language .. but i use this FS and then a admin [ of mobieltje.tk = a Dutch Flash forum ] he send me a language pack with these files:

customize.xml
nl.lng
nl.t9

he said i must flash the phone with the firmware above and then add the lanquagepack files to ; Tpa -> ... -> ... -> ... -> Language or something..

I think if you add (nl.lng and nl.t9) write language make true but the phone language not true.because you mut flash fs what support nl for phone and it make true phone language.
Othe way for example:
Second: when you have the file language. Rename it to one of the file language that is in your fone that you don't use.
Up load that new file language to phone.
Go to general / Language and choose the language you just add. Enjoy.
Exampe: how to did with my fone k800-->k810i
I am france , so i need FS-m east n africa (English - france - ...)But the newest firmware of k800i R8BA024 doesn't have M east n africa yet. They do have FS APAC(Malay - Philippine-Tagalog - Vietnamese - Chinese )
so i use FS APAC and want the france language.
i know i wont use fr language so i rename the vietnamese language file(vi.lng) to france language file(fr.lng) and upload the new language file to phone.
TPA\Preset\System\Language .
it worked perfect.

How do you have renamed The VI.lng file ? because i dont understand that ..

maybe i am wrong but do you mean ; i renamed the France language file (fr.lng) to The Vietnamese lanquage .. so u FR.lng -> Vi.lng .. so when u renamed that ..
and u upload it to you phone so it overwrites orsomething .. and then u can choose the language u want so u choose for
vitnamese .. because that is FR now ?

and what must i do with the T9 file ?

so i must do like this :


Flash your phone using SETool 2 Lite



Step 1: Shut down your phone and open SETool 2 Lite.

so i shut down my phone and take out sim and memory

Step 2: Choose your phone model.

so i choose for w810i

Step 3: Press the ADD button and select the Main&FS files (.mbn & .fbn). MAIN and FS can also be bin files. In fact the only important thing is that, they're unencrypted.

So i choose for :

main:
W810_R4EA031_MAIN_GENERIC_HN_RED50

&
Fs:
W810_R4ED001_FS_EUROPE_2_RED50



Step 4: Select the archive with the customization files (.zip).After it is recognized by the program , in the left side will appear informations about the customization.The archive(.zip) contain files from tpa/preset/custom.

So i must add : W810_CDA102555_11_R2A_Generic_EUROPE_2 ( i think ?? )

Step 5: Press the FLASH button.

i click on flash button

Step 6: Connect the usb cable while holding down the "c" button un your phone. Then wait for the process to finish.

Connect cable holding c down ..

Step 7: Disconnect your phone , get the battery out for 5 seconds , reintroduce it and start up the phone.It will appear a screen with "Please Wait...", wait 1-2 minutes and then the phone will start normally.

and then i have an unbranded phone i think ?

but the Europe_2 only support : English - French - German - Sesotho (South Africa) - Zulu - Turkish ..

But i am dutch so i want the dutch language in it ; what must i do ?
